Have you ever wished that you could type as fast as you talk? If so, speech recognition software might be just what you are looking for.
This type of technology has been around for quite a long time. But now it is finally accurate enough to be useful. Provided that you use the right tools.
Would you like to be able to...
type at least three time faster then you can now and with much better accuracy.
not misspell a word ever again
type up an entire paper in a matter of minutes
Speech recognition software will allow you to do this and so much more.
The world's fastest typer can't type nearly as quickly and accurately as the average person speaking into a microphone.
Try the "Test Your Typing" vs. Dragon NaturallySpeaking. My 75 words per minute was certainly no match with their software!
Words Of Wisdom
With my experiences with this technology, I have learned that their are a few things you need to do in order to get the most out of speech recognition software...
1. Get a quality microphone. The best software in the world won't be able to figure out what you are saying if you have a very low quality microphone.
Now I'm not saying to go out and spend hundreds on a microphone. But just realize that the nicer the microphone, the more accurate your software will work for you.
2. Use the voice training part of the software. With this, you will read whatever it is on the screen. This helps the software recognize your voice better and will increase the accuracy of the words that you are saying.
3. Get the best speech recognition software available. Speech recognition can be a very powerful and productive thing. But only if it accurately types out what you are saying.
I have tried lots of different software, and by far the best program I have used is Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.
It claims to be 99% accurate and I believe that it is.
In the future, it will become more and more common for users to run everything on their computer through voice commands.
This technology is available today. Although it is not quite perfected just yet. Check out this really cool speech recognition video using Windows Vista.
It's truly amazing to think what the future holds.
